Skills Acquired and Lessons Learned - Typical Workday with Abu Dhabi Commerecial Bank
Relationship Management/Client Advisory (Former Employee) – Dubai, UAE – July 28, 2014
I was hired by the Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank to be a part of the Relationship Management/Client Advisory team with the Corporate Banking Division.
Initially, my job role was more administrative, such as conducting regular account reviews for all the relationship managers and acting as the point of contact for all the client of the team. With the due passage of time, I starting taking on additional responsibilities such as performing industry analysis, evaluating our corporate clients business models and lines of business to determine their credit needs, performing financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis and forecasting and using all the information gathered to generate credit ratings. I would even assist the relationship managers to prepare relationship presentations and credit applications and was solely responsible for financial analysis reports.
I would typically work 8 - 9 hours per day and simultaneously prepare for my CFA Level 2 examinations, so my typical day would begin at 6:30 am and end by 10 pm during several days a week for several months.
