Prestige company - Collaborative workplace on Site project offices - Inequality pay benefits among employees
BIM Manager (Current Employee) –  DubaiNovember 27, 2019
Parsons is a Prestige company with iconic projects in many regions/ countries of the world. I am working on a unique project (Dubai Metro - Route2020). The project has multi-discipline specialist professionals from all over the world in a friendly and respectful environment. Management supports the employer to a certain level but not full support. annual increment is very low and not equal to the living expenses increase.
the hardest part of the job as the nature of the project base organization is at the end of the project and relocate the teams to another project to keep them for the long term.

Company gets the projects but management was not well qualified people
Assistant Resident Engineer (Former Employee) –  Abu DhabiAugust 16, 2019
We were considered as field staff and they are not treated as permanent company employees. Poorly managed project. Higher staff was hired thru client's recommendation. They do not necessarily have the proper qualifications or the skills to understand the staff's concerns.

Parsons is a good company to work for
Program Cost Manager (Former Employee) –  Abu DhabiNovember 10, 2018
Parsons is similar to Bechtel but not quite as sophisticated and organized. It often depends on the Business line the employee is working for. I would rate Bechtel somewhat higher than Parsons.
Pros
Salary good, working conditions good
Cons
not as sophisticated as Bechtel, Still highly relevant in todays engineering and construction business

3D graphics Specialist and Graphic Designer (Former Employee) –  DubaiSeptember 28, 2018
Company is great and pays really well for the right candidate but be prepared to sacrifice l big chunk of your family life at time and work overtime and weekends depending on project requirements, although you will be compensated for every minute of overtime that you do.Career growth is not substantial and salary can stagnate over a period of time.
Pros
food and workshops provided, company sponsored events and dinners, good overtime pay
Cons
get used to working very late hours and weekends

Challenging multi-cultural work environment
SENIOR URBAN DESIGNER / ARCHITECT (Current Employee) –  DubaiMarch 4, 2018
My typical day starts with reading and responding to emails, followed by delegating work to staff and short discussions with team members.

I have learned how the company functions and its core structure. I have provided support to the management from assisting the business development with proposals and bid documents.

The management has recently gone through a major change. It has become more streamlined, giving more responsibilities and a sense of ownership of the projects being undertaken.

It is a multi-cultural workplace where language is not necessarily an issue. However cultural differences sometimes create uncomfortable circumstances that are often resolved among team members.

Difficult Clients and short deadlines are the most challenging parts of the job. At the end of the day the goal must always be to deliver a quality product.

The most rewarding part of the job is always Client satisfaction. Positive responses from the Client ensures a continues and healthy relationship.
Pros
Excellent Salary
Cons
Long hours and work pressure
