To review, analyze and evaluate technically and commercially the new stock proposals, specification amendments / updates to ensure accuracy , completeness and readiness for procurement of the right materials at optimum cost.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- To review, analyze and coordinate with end users, suppliers, and manufacturers the new materials proposals for stock (PFS) to ensure correctness of the catalogue data, with respect to specification and other engineering data and by making reference to drawings and parts lists specifications. Evaluate technical and commercial offers, participate in negotiation and finalize the optimum quantity.
- To review materials catalogue to ensure specified template / format, monitor and control the grouping, coding and linking related technical documents and drawings in the company Materials Management System (MAXIMO).
- To review, monitor and follow up the update of incoming change request proposals (ICR) for existing inventory materials to ensure completeness of equipment / materials data in the Materials Management System (MAXIMO).
- To review /verify additional data / amendments resulted from the physical stock checking process, raise change request (ICR) and initiate corrective action in MAXIMO to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- To review the existing catalogue data for revising material specifications to improve interchangeability & collect appropriate data and documents to arrange for physical verification at sites in coordination with Inventory Control, Warehouse Operations and users for accepting the changes and process merger of duplicate items.
- To review and coordinate with vendors and manufacturers on existing materials specifications following queries raised during purchase, analyze the new data, evaluate, coordinate with users and Inventory Control for acceptance and ensure system updates.
- To coordinate the collection of relevant data, service, location details, parts lists and drawing of obsolete equipments and parts to check with respective Vendors and Purchasing Department for substitute offers. To coordinate with users the acceptance of the substitute materials specifications for the introduction of new products.
- To participate in developing alternative specification and alternative sources to enhance catalogue with acceptable materials specification and sources in order to reduce monopoly by single source suppliers.
- To coordinate with End users, Technical Departments and manufacturers to assist in identifying all hazardous substances and modification of their buying description to comply with the relevant safety standards, clauses and codes of practice in accordance with the international safety regulations. To supervise and control Materials Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) central library for all Hazardous Materials.
- To review and process generalization of proprietary materials in order to reduce inventory costs and provide technical support on material specification and catalogue references.
- To provide suggestions for enhancement of MAXIMO, supervise catalogue reviews and clean-up exercise.
To review and provide weekly / monthly statistical data related to cataloguing activities.
Minimum Requirments :
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Discipline.
5 Years Experience experience in Material related activities including 3 years in Materials Cataloging and 2 years in Maintenance or Operations.
