Hotel Overview:
Fairmont Palm Jumeirah is a world-class property opening on the 1st September 2012 on the iconic Palm Island in Dubai. The hotel will feature 381 guest rooms and suites with two Fairmont Gold floors. A total of eight food and beverage outlets on property will offer international dining options including Szechwan cuisine, a Brazilian steak house plus separate cigar and wine bars. The property will be positioned as a Luxury Hotel joining other internationally branded hotels on the ‘island’, which will generate tremendous anticipation both in the UAE and worldwide. In addition, the high regard that the Fairmont brand is afforded in the region will result in very high expectations for flawless service delivery from day-one.

Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Security Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service

Adhere to all policies as set forth by the Security Manager

Supervise the surveillance of the closed circuit television system and supply evidence on CD as necessary

Complete a daily shift occurrence report accurately and in its entirety ensuring that particular attention is paid to times that certain activities are performed

Supervise all contract security personnel and daily operations

Complete accident and incident forms accurately, in their entirety and in a timely manner

Review Daily News and Manager on Duty reports and keep up to date with all VIP arrivals/protocols

Check ID’s of visitors and employees on an as needed basis

Security screen all individuals other than hotel employees

Consistently check all packages/ bundles being carried out by all persons vacating the property via the employee entrance

Use Scanning/Magnetron equipment when directed by ADTA

Open secured areas for authorized personnel and log activity

Check door locks throughout the hotel

Thoroughly investigate all vehicle accidents, alleged thefts, and other security related incidents

Respond to medical emergencies and assist as required

Investigate assault complaints and investigate fully

Respond to the hotel outlets promptly and assist with guests as required, accurately and completely document any such incidents

Respond immediately and investigate fire/ emergency alarm activations

Challenge suspicious persons and escort off property if warranted; record any pertinent information and log it in occurrence report

Actively check for all security and safety hazards and document by way of a security incident report

Implement security patrols of the hotel from the roof to the basement areas regularly during each shift; the times will be staggered daily

All security concerns and violations will be noted, properly documented, and brought to the attention the Security Manager

Be knowledgeable of the hotels lock system and perform all duties as assigned by the Security Manager; this includes being able to program a lock. In addition, all officers will immediately commence with performing a lock interrogation of a door lock on a room involved in an alleged theft of other incident

Receive handle all lost & found items, as per standard operating procedure

Answer the security phone with the standard greeting stating your department, name, and using the appropriate salutation; politeness is mandatory

Assist all other areas of the hotel on an as needed basis provided that security protocol is adhered to

Be an active participant in a team building effort within the department

Liaise with Law enforcement/government departments in the absence of the Security Manager.

Qualifications:
Previous experience is an asset

First Aid, conflict management, and military or law enforcement training preferred

High school diploma and /or experience in a related field preferred

Must be AED/CPR certified

Computer literate

Read and write English to a good standard

Arabic would be an advantage

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

Constant standing and walking throughout shift
